The interview considers issues related to the peculiarities of development of education in the Republic of Kazakhstan over the years of independence, the specifics of Karaganda State Technical University, where mainly technical specialists study, the difficulties of reforming higher education in the situation of entering the Bologna process and joining the common European educational space. The problems associated with the massification of higher education, with the level of preparation of applicants, assessed by the results of the Unified National Testing (similar to the Russian Unified State Exam) also were the subject of discussion. Considerable attention in the conversation was devoted to the problem of the development of higher education in the Republic of Kazakhstan in the context of rapid technological growth in the leading countries of the world and the need to train specialists who would meet all modern requirements.

The article provides an overview of the analytical potential of the Garant legal information system. The benefits of using it in the educational process by students for writing scientific works in the field of law, economics and management are considered and analysed. It is proved that as a system for collecting the necessary information of a legal nature, the Garant system has a number of advantages over similar systems.

Among the remarkable teachers, whose activities glorified the Moscow vocal school, a special place is occupied by students of the outstanding Italian singer and teacher Ettore Gandolfi , who taught from 1907 to 1931 in Kiev and in Moscow. The article reveals the features of the pedagogical school of three of his students, who became professors of the leading universities of the country: G.G. Aden (professor of the Gnesins Russian Academy of Music), H.I. Tits (professor of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory), D.B. Belyavskaya (professors of the Russian Academy of Theater Arts). The author shows that the teaching principles of Professor Ettore Gandolfi found a worthy continuation in the works of these masters.
The article provides an overview of the methodological approaches of the last quarter of the XX century — early XXI century to study the traces of oral traditions in early literary works. The approaches of a number of domestic and foreign folklorists, ethnographers, linguists, literary critics and historians are analysed. The general conclusions of the author about the meaning of the presence of the oral tradition in early writing tradition and the prospects for identifying its signs are formulated.
