Dermatovenerology is a section of medicine that studies the structure and functioning of the skin and its appendages - hair, nails, as well as mucous membranes - skin diseases, methods of their prevention and treatment. Venereology is a field of medicine that studies sexually transmitted infections or in other words venereal diseases. Order of November 15, 2012 No. 924n “On Approval of the Procedure for Providing Medical Care to the Population in the Field of Dermatovenerology” defines the procedure for providing health care to the population in case of skin diseases and sexually transmitted infections.
Obesity and diabetes mellitus are currently global epidemics caused by a disturbance of energy balance. It was believed that functional brown adipose tissue (BAT) is present only in newborns, but now it is also found in adults, and can be detected during cold stimulation. The brown fat layer is metabolically active during stimulation, it causes an increase in energy consumption and reduces the level of glucose uptake and absorption of fatty acids. This review summarizes the study of BAT in humans in the light of renewed scientific interest and the growing body of evidence showing that renewal and activation of this tissue can cause energy expenditure and may play a significant role in the treatment of metabolic diseases in the future.
The article summarizes the results of the examination of patients with chronic prostatitis on an outpatient basis. The study included 75 male patients of reproductive age. The purpose of the study is to determine the relationship between the hormonal blood profile and microbiological and spermatological disorders in men suffering from chronic bacterial prostatitis. The features of the hormonal profile in this category of patients were studied. The relationship between the level of male sex hormones in the blood serum and the spermatological and microbiological indicators of these patients was revealed.
Fibro-cavernous pulmonary tuberculosis (FCT) is a chronic disease that develops as a result of the progression of the destructive tuberculosis process. FCT shows undulant course with intervals of inflammation extinction. Today there are a number of criteria for diagnostic measures, diagnosis and treatment of this pathology. The article tells about the etiopathogenesis, features of clinical picture, modern principles of laboratory and instrumental diagnosis and the basic principles of treatment for fibro-cavernous form of pulmonary tuberculosis.
The article describes the reorganization of care in the field of dermatovenerology in the Samara Oblast (region) in 2010–2015 under the conditions of the «Lean Production» project. An evaluation of the performance of health care organizations in the field of dermatovenerology during the reorganization period was carried out: the number of patients with chronic skin diseases decreased by 4.4 %, while the number of patients on dispensary observation increased by 24.7 %. These indicators are the result of the introduction in the work of dermatovenerologists of organizational activities aimed at improving interaction with physicians of other specialties and expanding the preventive focus in the work.
In the context of changing domestic health care, there are reasonable requirements for the development of new approaches in the activities of health care organizations at all levels of health care. One of the main tools in this task is the justification of the labour standards for health workers.
The article deals with the problem of demography (for example, a decline in the birth rate) from a historical and medical point of view. The identified problem in the history of civilizations at certain periods was quite acute. This aspect, for example, was of negative character in the ancient world, and we note that this was the period of its heyday. The history of medicine is taught at the Department of Public Health and Health Care No. 1. The interdisciplinary connections of these disciplines are traced in the presented material.
The main form of organization of primary health care is the general medical (family) practice (general practitioner/family physician). In this regard, continuous monitoring of GP/ FP activities is necessary to calculate staffing needs.
The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is celebrated around the world every year on 3 December in accordance with General Assembly resolution 47/3 of 14 October 1992. Its goal is to promote the rights of people with disabilities in all spheres of public life, as well as to draw the attention of the general public to the problems of disabled people. The adoption of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in 2006 was a logical continuation of the many years of work by UN in this field. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and a number of major global development strategies set the foundation for further promotion the rights of persons with disabilities.
