The results of studies on the cultivation of grain corn production and verifi
cation in the conditions of Central forest steppe zone of the Trans Urals have
been presented in the article. Comparative economic effi ciency of grain
production of corn and spring wheat has been given. It has been established that
in terms of minimization of processing of the soil and low availability of
agricultural machinery for corn cultivation of grain in the conditions of
Central forest steppe zone of the Trans Urals well proven
seeders-cultivators-type SKP-2,1-equipped anchor openers, and grain harvesters
with a device for threshing the cobs. The best conditions for the cultivation
and care of crops of corn are formed in two-fi eld grain crop rotations
(corn-wheat) on the background of the combined system of tillage (plowing under
corn, small surface under wheat). Grain technology of corn, despite the increase
in total cost of cultivation in Central zone of the Trans Urals provides higher
and more stable grain yield and better economic performance compared with spring
wheat. It has been established by fi eld experiments and production practice,
the effi ciency of agricultural technology of corn cultivation and its
accessibility for ordinary agricultural producers.
