Information about the development of cage trout farming in the Republic of Karelia, its present state, goals and tasks of further development given. It is shown that fish farming is one of the most competitive sectors of the economy of Karelia, focused the final consumer and import substitution of food products. One of the directions of development of the fishing industry is to create a new cage farms in the White Sea and in inland waters of northern Karelia.

Presents a summary of the effect of stocking on the environment and the composition of fi sh fauna of two adjacent lakes. We discuss the evaluation of the impact of herbivorous and carnivorous fishes. It is shown that the effect of grass carp on primary care has led to shifts in the ecosystem as a whole, including the creation of new conditions for the feeding of fish. This, as well as check-in an additional amount of pike, led to changes in the trophic status of water bodies and fisheries The quantities of commercial fi sh stocks have decreased, but increased the quality of their significance. Stocking has not produced a significant increase in fi sh production, but increased the profitability of fishery management without a radical change in the structure of fishing.

Effective cultivation of young fishes sturgeon in these conditions is a serious workplace issue. The study was carried out from November 2012 to October 2013 in Tudakul reservoir, Uzbekistan. The ages, total lengths and weights of the samples ranged between 1 to 7 years, 15 to 94 cm and 50 to 15000 g, respectively. The relation between total length (TL, cm) and weight (W, g) was described by equation W = 0.0193TL2.956 (r = 0,99). The relationship between total length (TL) and standard length (SL) was described by linear equation: SL = 0,875TL — 0,899 (r = 0,995). Mean back calculated total length was at age I — 20,5 cm, II — 37,5 cm, III — 51,4 cm, IV — 66,9 cm, V — 75 ,5 cm, VI — 84,2 cm, VII — 86,0 cm. In Tudakul reservoir, common carp growth rate is fast in compare with other regions of area and introductions of this species.

Stuffs on cultivation of Copepoda of Crustacea sp. Calanoida — Diaptomus gracilis Sars, 1862 and Acartia clause Giesbrecht, 1889, in quality of feedstuff for larvae of fi sh. Cultivation made in basins and ponds. Used nutrient mediums of miscellaneous composition. By results of experiences breeding that duplication copepods is in a greater degree defined by food factor presence, in our event — nutrient mediums is drawn. Besides, nutrient mediums make positive impact on qualitative and quantitative composition of a phytoplankton.

The distribution and biological features of threatened species Acipenser oxyrinchus Mitchill, 1815 are reviewed. In Past the northern subspecies Atlantic sturgeon Acipenser oxyrinchus oxyrinchus inhabited all Canadian and American rivers entering Western Atlantic Ocean from Hamilton Inlet on the coast of Labrador to Saint Johns River in Florida. Southern subspecies Gulf sturgeon Acipenser oxyrinchus desotoi Vladykov, 1955 inhabited rivers entering the Mexican Gulf. Two basic populations of Atlantic sturgeon could be described in Canada — in St. Lawrence River and St. John River. American populations are divided on 5 distinct population segments (DPS) named 1) Gulf of Maine, 2) New York Bight, 3) Chesapeake Bay, 4) Carolina and 5) South Atlantic. These DPS are markedly separated and located in unique ecological systems; have unique genetic characteristics; and would represent a significant gap in the range of taxon if one of them were to become extinct. Southern subspecies Gulf sturgeon A. oxyrinchus desotoi Vladykov, 1955 inhabited all rivers entering Mexican Gulf. The second part of review is devoted to central and southern populations of Atlantic sturgeon A. oxyrinchus oxyrinchus — from Hudson River (New York Bight) to Georgia and Florida rivers (South Atlantic DPS).
