In the context of global transformations in the energy system, the transition to renewable energy sources (RES) is becoming an integral part of the sustainable development strategy. The Kyrgyz Republic, endowed with significant potential in hydropower, solar, and wind resources, is gradually developing its own model of "green" energy. The integration of renewable energy sources into the existing energy system can reduce carbon emissions and decrease dependence on energy resource imports. The implementation of targeted government policies in the field of renewable energy, as well as the development of infrastructure and the creation of incentives for private investors, will ensure the sustainable development of the national energy sector. However, the process of adopting renewable energy sources is complicated by several factors: low investment activity, limited energy infrastructure, and the lack of comprehensive regulatory and legal frameworks. Despite these challenges, there is a positive trend — international cooperation is intensifying, pilot projects are expanding, and interest in environmentally safe technologies is growing. The effective development of renewable energy in Kyrgyzstan requires a holistic approach, including government support, legislative improvements, professional training, and the introduction of innovative solutions. The implementation of these measures will enhance the country»s energy resilience, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, and facilitate the transition to an environmentally safe and competitive economy. Renewable energy not only serves as a tool for decarbonization but also as a driver of innovation and socio-economic growth.
