In the article various ways of increasing the durability and reliability of machines and equipment by applying coatings for high-wear surfaces of parts are considered. The advantages of applying thin polymer coatings to finished and also repaired metal products and machine components are shown, a new method of applying polymer coating to metals is created. The materials of the coating itself (polyurethane “SKU PFL-100”) and adhesive material (“CILBOND 49SFC”) were selected in the laboratory in order to implement this procedure. A technology for applying polyurethane coating has been developed: the sequence of the performed operations and the parameters characterizing them are determined. Application of polyurethane coating gives a number of positive properties to machine parts: increased resistance to impact loads, reduced noise and/or friction, good atmospheric, corrosion, chemical resistance.
The performed studies of the structure and phase state of the surface layer of ceramics irradiated with intense electron beam show that irradiation of sintered boron carbide ceramics results in the formation of nonporous polycrystalline structure with smaller grains (in comparison with the sintered state). The microtwins, which are the relaxation mechanism for elastic stress fields, form the intragranular structure in irradiated ceramics.
In this article, the areas of application of the diamond bit, its features are presented, as well as the results of its effective work in the drilling process are summed up.
The influence of deviations from the surface of the setting bases of prismatic parts on the location error is considered. The central plane is assumed as the nominal setting and measuring base. The calculation of the location error is based on the fact that deviations from the surface of technological bases of the blanks lead to a mismatch between the real setting and measuring bases - contact planes of the workpiece and the seat members of the machine accessories and the controls. Dependence is given to determine the component of the location error associated with deviations in the location of the real setting bases.
The article discusses the correlation between the qualification of an employee and his or her effectiveness. The economic situation in the country is changing rapidly, and managers are required to work in new conditions. Presented modern management technologies offer solution to the urgent problem concerning the retraining of personnel.
The analysis involving the designs of the main types of widely used pipe elevators is performed. The shortcomings of the existing structures are considered and, according to the analysis, design of “EKhL 60-15” elevator is determined as the most suitable for automation.
A method for modelling non-stationary processes in pipeline systems with active-type pressure snubbers, a method for estimating their effectiveness and recommendations for their development are given.
Continuation of the story about great achievements and great people. The article can be interesting for customers of compressors, design institutes, scientific and technological centers, students of relevant colleges and universities, as well as specialists interested in the technology and compressor packaging. The article was prepared on the materials of the book by B.M. Smerek, the former employee of the Moscow representation of Ariel Corporation. He had the honour and pleasure to work for Ariel (Representative Office in Moscow) for more than 20 years and personally knows many of the employees quoted in the book "Ariel, a Great American Company."
The article is devoted to the issues concerning development of nanomaterials in China. Particular attention is paid to the development of this branch in construction, engineering and chemical industry. The main directions of development of nanotechnology throughout the world are indicated.
