The article deals with dominating trends in modern production and their role in forming visions of further development. It has been shown that involving of labor activity transformation in the process of comprehension the pattern trends leads to understanding of the place of self-development in a production strategy. Comprehensive analyses of trends combined with applying new approaches to labor activity description has helped to bring to light and lay a foundation for a new view on production strategy improvement. That has made it possible to describe a new type of productions systems, specifically self-developing production systems, at a conceptual level. The existence of labor activity real transformation model in the description makes it possible to create a system with inner self-device for selfdevelopment. Such self-developing production systems do not need external interference and are invariant in a wide variety of social surroundings.

Currently, economists, production managers and production enterprises specialists take much interest in issues of strategic development taking into account changes in technical fit-out, employment problems and other issues of social character. Issues related to the emergence of global trends in vital activities systems, specifically in production activities are discussed most often.

Attention is attracted to the fact that the analyses of trends in the discussed problem is complicated by inclusion of both technical and economic parameters of actual production activities and factors of public and social sounding in the number of factors. With that in mind the analyses of trends in production activities is most often made at the level of emotional judgements that does not bring us closer to an objective assessment of the trends influence on production efficiency.

In these conditions it is reasonable to resort to a well-known technique when a global problem is analysed step by step:

• splitting the global system into parts (cells);

• problem analyses at the cell level;

• spreading the analyses results on the whole system.

This article has made an attempt to come to the solution of the production development problem taking into account different tendencies analyses and used patterns for the purposes that the society currently accepts and will accept in the foreseeable future. As trends reflect only directions of managed or spontaneous development, such problem as the influence of the identified trend on specific tasks solution is most interesting. In connection with the fact that creative potential of the production system will influence raising the production efficiency in perspective, it is the problem that the article deals with.

In order to get deep insight in the nature of trends in production activity it is reasonable to identify causes defining the trends nature and, if possible, classify these causes by certain features. As trends obviously do not occur spontaneously, but are result of somebody's activity, one can suppose it is also possible to manage the trends if the causes of their occurrence are known.
