Modern agriculture and crop farming are faced with the task of achieving high yields, stable over the years, with good quality of the raw materials obtained. Manufacturing should be cost-effective with the least cost of resources used.

To increase the efficiency of agricultural production, it is necessary to expand the species range of crops grown, one of which is oil fl ax. Nowadays, the prospects for research of oil flax are caused by a combination of inherent useful properties, in part, this determines the expansion of the geographical area of its cultivation. Oil fl ax is a valuable crop with many application options. Oil fl ax is a high-margin crop in the industrial market, which determines the interest of agricultural producers in it. Valuable properties of fl ax seeds, as well as byproducts of processing, are very beneficial from the point of view of economics [1, 5].

The variety and its genotype are of leading importance in the formation of the yield level, quantitative and qualitative indicators of yield, which ultimately determine the efficiency of cultivation [4].

The purpose of the research is to determine the efficiency of the cultivation of oil fl ax varieties in the conditions of the Prisalair zone of the Altai Krai.

The research was carried out in 2019–2020 on the lands of Orbita, AO of the Kytmanovsky District, located in the Prisalair zone of the Altai Krai. The climatic conditions in the years of the research differed in the level of precipitation (in 2019 they fell by 177 mm more than in 2020, and amounted to 446 mm), the average temperature regime for the growing seasons was practically the same.

The soil of the experimental site is leached medium-thick medium-humus, medium-loamy black earth (chernozem) with a pH of 5.8 and a humus content of 5.9 %.

The study of the efficiency of oil fl ax varieties cultivation was carried out in production experience. The objects of research were the Fliz, Lirina, Severny varieties. The varieties were planted at a seeding rate of 7.5 million pcs/ha. The planting period was the beginning of the first decade of May in both years of research. The predecessor for oil fl ax planting was spring wheat. The cultivation technique, used in the experiment, corresponded to the zonal characteristics. Harvesting was carried out in the phase of full ripeness. Crops were mowed into rolls, then the rolls were selected and threshed, these activities were carried out in the second decade of August, straw was rolled in the second and third decades of August.
