The impact of harmful organisms leads to a shortage of crops and a decrease in the quality of products. Potential crop losses from pests, pathogens and weeds in Russia amount to about 100 million tons in grain units.

Pests and diseases cause direct and indirect harm to crops. So, direct harm to grain crops is a decrease in the number of seedlings, in thinning, weakening of growth rates, a decrease in bushiness, white spikes, a decrease in the absolute mass of grain and a deterioration in quality. Indirect harm is the lodging of stems, threshing of grain, which also ultimately leads to significant losses in yield.

Russia has not yet achieved sustainable production of malting barley in volumes that meet the needs of the malting and brewing industry. The volume of imports of malting barley and brewer’s malt reaches half a million tons per year. The reasons for unstable barley production in Russia are a weak level of intensification, insufficient and inadequate protection of crops from pests and diseases, the influence of weather conditions.

Plant protection is the main technique for ensuring sustainable crop production. The most important means of increasing the effectiveness of protection of spring barley from pests and diseases is the use of tank insectofungicidal mixtures of pesticides. The use of tank mixtures of pesticides with fertilizers, plant growth regulators etc. contributes to reducing the number of pesticide treatments and, accordingly, the costs of their implementation, reducing the degree of mechanical damage to cultivated plants, preventing soil over-compaction, improving the efficiency of spring barley cultivation technologies [1–2].

Therefore, the study of the use of tank insecto-fungicidal mixtures individually and in combination with micronutrients is relevant.

In the period from the emergence of seedlings to tillering, the influence of pests and diseases is most dangerous and the damage caused by them can lead to the death of plants in large areas. During this period of development of cereal crops, seed dressing is an ecologically and economically effective method against pests and seedling diseases.
