Many tasks of forestry can be effectively addressed on the basis of remote sensing data (RS): inventory and monitoring of the forest fund, monitoring of forest use, protection, detection of illegal logging, etc. This requires specialized methods for processing remote sensing data, as well as software that makes it possible to implement the data of the methodology. The using of index images is a well-known method of obtaining information on vegetation and soil cover. They are widely used for revealing the condition of crops, yield forecasting, determining plant diseases, etc.
