The article describes the activities of the two hospitals in France and Russia, which have much in common in the history of development and modern organization of inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care. In view of the approaches to questioning patients on satisfaction of psychiatric care there are provided recommendations for the cross-cultural studies, exchange of experiences and optimization of psychosocial work divisions of large psychiatric institutions.

Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is referred to as “motor disorders associated with sleep” and is of great interest, since it can start several different disorders. A review of the pharmacological opportunity of RLS treatment, and adverse events are considered that may accompany therapy.
Giant pituitary adenomas with big and giant posthaemorrhagic cysts are separate nosology, requiring particular management. On the one hand it’s very risky to excise radically walls of a cyst. But on the other hand there can be a reaccumulation of the cyst if the removal hasn’t been performed fully. Two-stage treatment is suggested as a solution of the problem: external drainage of a cyst and a removal of tumor 3-4 months after drainage. Transnasal intracapsular removal with long postoperative drainage of capsule cavity into the sphenoid sinus or nasal cavity gives the best results.
